What causes hair loss?

A variety of issues might cause female hair loss. Some are external, such as taking certain medications, constantly wearing hairstyles that pull the hair excessively tightly or even undergoing a stressful event, such as surgery. In some circumstances, thinning hair is caused by bodily conditions, such as a thyroid problem, a hormonal imbalance, a recent pregnancy, or an inflammatory disease.

Hair loss may also be genetic. Female-pattern hair loss, also known as androgenic alopecia, is the most common hereditary disorder. Women may observe a widening of the top of the head parting – this usually begins when a woman is in her 40s or 50s. It could happen if you inherit specific genes from one or both parents. Hormonal changes that occur during menopause may also cause symptoms.

An inflammatory illness affecting the scalp is another trigger of female hair loss. That could be eczema, psoriasis, or a condition known as frontal fibrosing alopecia, which causes scarring and hair loss — sometimes irreversible — in the front of the scalp above the brow.

Overuse of damaging hair products or tools such as dryers and other equipment that heat the hair is another prevalent cause of hair loss. Hair loss can also be caused by underlying sickness, autoimmune disorders such as lupus, dietary deficiencies, or hormonal abnormalities.

Conclusion

The ideal strategy to treat hair loss is to prevent it by starting treatment as soon as possible: the sooner you start treatment, the more follicles can be protected and function correctly. Treating hair loss early, while your hair follicles are still active, gives you the best chance of success.
